Social Media Marketing - the next big wave?

Forrester has just completed it’s marketing conference with theme of ‘using the down economy to catalyze marketing change’ and you can find details of various discussion/keynotes from this conference at Forrestor Marketing Blog.

Few interesting notes related Social Media Marketing are:

Engage with your customers online/offline - make them feel part of your next big things.

Use a mix of traditional marketing tactics with social media marketing.

Build communities for your consumers and early adopters are very crucial else whatever you build people won’t come there.

Include community perspective into your marketing campaigns.

Replace incumbent channel with an unproven one(like social media channels).

Also Forrester estimates that Social Media Marketing budgets will grow at larger rate than any other forms of traditional/digital marketing - find details below:

While the current trend suggests that all most all major brands want to engage with their consumers online and be part of social media channels to increase their brand awareness , online reputation , engage with consumers in conversations and scout for new leads/prospects to make more sales.
